Volkswagen prepares SUVs for 2017
The Volkswagen works to solve what is
considered the main problem of its product line in the US: the lack of
adequate SUVs to the world’s second largest market. The result is that
its 10 million cars sold last year, only 600,000 were in the US soil.
This way, Volkswagen prepare five new SUV that will hit the US market –
and some of them to Brazil – the next three years. All specifically
developed to please the American consumer – anticipating a market
positioning of Volkswagen in US in 2017 much stronger than at present.
Volkswagen has two SUV to the US. The
Tiguan with two rows of seats and five seats, which is priced starting
at US $ 26,255, but has two major problems: a very outdated infotainment
system; lack of diesel and hybrid versions. They estimate that a diesel
version could quadruple Tigan’s sales in the US.
The other SUV from VW US in the Touareg:
Luxury model, priced starting at US $ 44,705 dollars, and with two
major problems: old-fashioned infotainment system and high price for a
five-seat SUV.
